About Architects Creating Homes

See Press-PR for a Summary 3rd-person article about ArCH.

ArCH : Architects Creating Homes is about Licensed Architects who practice residential architecture and how they are improving the practice & quality of residential architecture.

ArCH Mission Statement:

ArCH is the international organization of Licensed Architects focused on residential architecture, professional excellence, member assistance, friendship & success, Client value & service.

Nearly all ArCH members, at one time or another, have been or still are members of other professional architectural associations.  ArCH is happy to coordinate initiatives with some of these other organizations, where there are parallel issues of licensed architects working together to improve the practice of architecture for the public, for their businesses, the environment, their communities and society as a whole.

Who are ArCH members?  Licensed Architects from across the United States of America & the World, running their own architectural practices or working for other architectural companies or other governmental and business entities.  At present, there are members from California through North Carolina and from Wisconsin down through Florida, and across vast oceans to include continents like Australia, Europe, North America, South America, India, China, Russia, island countries, Africa and anywhere on Earth.  Licensed architects from anywhere in the USA & the world are welcome.  Most of our architect members practice mainly residential architecture.  However, that is not a requirement for membership.

Many ArCH members have 20 to 40 years of experience.  ArCH seems to attract licensed Architects with decades of experience.  Because they have observed events in the profession and would prefer to coordinate with other highly experienced Architects to help improve Residential Architecture.  It takes experience to know what to do to improve the science, art and practice of Architecture.

ArCH does Not practice architecture.  ArCH is a professional organization, not unlike the AMA (American Medical Association) and other professional societies.

As of 1.28.2013, ArCH is an LLC (Limited Liability Company) organized in the State of North Carolina.  While not technically a Not-For-Profit entity, ArCH exists solely to help its membership and to improve the practice of residential architecture through its informational programs and other public awareness efforts and the sharing of information between concerned professionals.  Income to ArCH goes to these purposes.  At present, there are expenses involved with website maintenance, administrative, and other operational needs, with the goal of having the bulk of ArCH income devoted to its stated mission and goals.  At present, no one in the ArCH organization receives a paycheck for their efforts and none are planned.  At some point, there may be ArCH employees, but this is yet to be determined.

The internal operational organization of ArCH will at some point become that of 9 regional Central Committee (CC) members from the USA, voted into office from the nationwide ArCH membership, along with a founding member (who may be one of those regional members), along with up to 4 international members, hopefully each representing a different continent.  The ArCH organization may evolve over time to become another organization type, such as, but not limited to: a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) or other type, as determined by the founder & to-be-elected CC and the general ArCH membership.
